In Salem-Keizer Public Schools and the EDGE program our vision is for all students to graduate, prepared for a successful life. Through your partnership, we are excited about the opportunities our program will continue to provide our SKPS students for years to come.
Thank you to everyone who provided us feedback through our mid-year parent survey last month. If you have not had an opportunity to complete the survey, we encourage you to do so. Your feedback has been instrumental in helping our leaders collaborate to continue to adapt our program to best serve your needs in the future.

Through your feedback, we are excited to share a little bit about how the EDGE program will look during the 2021-22 school year.
Starting in the fall of 2021, EDGE students will have access to two learning pathways to best meet the needs of the individual students, their families and provide the flexibility our program was intended for. We have learned that even in a post-COVID world, students can truly thrive in an online program and we are excited to offer expanded options in the coming year.
Next year, our program will offer multiple options for families. Options will include learning a model similar to what students experienced this year, as well as another option that will offer more independence and flexibility of scheduling for families. This will allow students to access their education on their schedules and not force all families into a standard schedule.
Based on your experiences this year, and the proposed formats for next year, we ask that you provide us with information about your intentions for next year. This is a way for our program to plan for program capacity, make staffing plans, and overall provide you with the best possible program next year. We understand things may change, and that’s okay.
