Attendance

When students are absent parents must provide a reason, in writing, or a direct call to the school, within 72 hours of the date of absence in order for us to excuse the absence.

Tardy

If your student is tardy, please send the teacher an email, or call our office. Remember to include the student’s name, grade, student ID number, and the reason for the tardy.

Excused Absences

  • Illness, injury, or hospitalization of a student (Doctor’s note required after 3 consecutive days)
  • Medical or dental appointments (verification of appointments may be required)
  • Serious illness or hospitalization of an immediate family member
  • Field trips and school-sponsored activities
  • Military-parent call to duty, leave from, or deployment to a combat zone or to a combat support post
  • Planned religious instruction or observance of legally established religious holidays
  • Internet issues (for one day)

Unexcused Absences

  • Oversleeping
  • Caring for siblings
  • Shopping
  • Haircuts
  • Running errands
  • Internet issues (for more than one day)
  • Students may also be marked unexcused if they are not participating in class

Planned Absences

Planned absences for more than one day (up to 5 days) are arranged in the following manner:

  1. Parent/guardian will need to submit a Planned Absence Form at least 5 days prior to the first day of absence.
  2. The student will need to connect with teachers, prior to the first day of absence, to make arrangements for making up the missed work.
