Connected Pathway

The Connected Pathway resembles more of the traditional school experience but in a virtual school platform. Below are the components and expectations of the connected pathway.

  • Teacher provides the instruction and the EDGE program sets the daily schedule.
  • Daily student attendance is required in all class sessions and monitored by EDGE program staff.
  • Work completion and grades will be monitored regularly by EDGE program staff.
  • Support for students who have been identified as needing special education services, speech, TAG, academic, and language supports are provided in a live session.
  • The Connected Pathway is the recommended pathway for most students.

Independent Pathway

The Independent Pathway provides families and students the opportunity to complete their work at a time that best works for the family’s schedule. Below are the components and expectations of the independent pathway.

  • Teacher provides the instruction through the use of videos and/or assignments posted in Canvas and provides live sessions for students who need additional support.
  • Students or families determine a schedule that best meets their needs in which there is adequate time to complete school work.
  • Daily student attendance is required and monitored by EDGE program staff. Daily attendance is recorded by students or supporting adults communicating DAILY with each teacher. Communication can be through email, phone call, parent square message, Canvas message, attending live support sessions, or other electronic communication.
  • Elementary Independent Families will have a required live individual student/family check-in twice a month.
  • Work completion and grades will be monitored regularly by EDGE program staff.
  • Support for students who have been identified as needing special education services, speech, TAG, academic, and language supports are provided in a live session that is scheduled by the teacher and students are required to attend.
